Here’s a great Bible verse to memorize: "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)
Individually and as churches we discover God’s plans by following the light he gives us. At the same time, we ask for more light as far ahead as he wants to show us.
One way we lay out ministry plans for a year at a time is through the annual church budgets. With this newsletter you’ll find an insert that presents the proposals for the coming year. On one side is the church budget, and on the reverse is the preschool/kindergarten budget. The hardest decision in the process came from the fact that too few students enrolled for kindergarten for us to make the class. This is a big disappointment, and the leadership strained for weeks to try and keep the class open. We do foresee a terrific year for the 3- and 4-year-olds enrolled.
The budget will be presented for discussion in the church conference of Sunday August 8 at 5 p.m. The church will vote on the budget in a special called session at the conclusion of worship on Sunday morning August 15th.
We’re saying goodbye to Scott Higginbotham as God moves him from our Youth Minister to become Pastor of Lexington Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. Scott, Kiley, and Chloe will be sorely missed. They are choice servants. Let’s consider them our missionaries to the Gulf Coast!
Yours in Christ,
Bro. Rick
